A serious accident at work occurred on Monday at the Mondi paper factory in St. Gertraud near Frantschach: a 20-year-old lost his life.
A Lavanttal leasing worker got caught between the lift truck and the cover of a fan when loading the sleeve cutting machine and suffered serious injuries. An emergency doctor tried to revive him. But the only 20-year-old died at the scene of the accident. Gottfried Joham, Managing Director of Mondi Frantschach: “We express our deepest sympathy to the family and colleagues of the deceased. We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague. The incident is being investigated in cooperation with local authorities and we will act on the findings.”
