“He would go to prison”: the disturbing confession of Line Renaud on Loulou Gasté

Line Renaud makes disturbing confidences in the book Quel vies! published this Thursday, May 5. Indeed, she returns to her love story with Loulou Gasté, 20 years her senior.

These are open-hearted confidences that Line Renaud gave to the work What lives! published this Thursday, May 5, 2022. Indeed, the actress returned to her love affair with Loulou Gasté, whom she met thanks to the singer Josette Daydé, for whom the lyricist had written songs. “I imagined an elderly gentleman, since I had been singing it since I was 12! And I find myself in front of a superb guy, a Ray Ventura-style smile, dressed like a prince”, she recalls, before continuing: “We did not see that in my settlement. A crazy pace, and here he is grabbing a guitar for me to sing. Where am I? What am I doing here? My audacity flies away”. She then “loses all her means and remains speechless”.

Thus, we learn that Line Renaud, only 17 years old, would have maintained her first relationship with Loulou Gasté. But the artist then makes some rather disturbing confessions: “I couldn’t say he raped me, because I consented. He was so handsome, it was my first time. We had sex, and he sent me back to my homes to learn new songs. What risks he took! I was not of age. Today, he would go to prison, Loulou”, she confides.

Line Renaud: “I was 17 and Loulou was twenty years older than me”

This is not the first time that Line Renaud has confided in her debut with Loulou Gasté: “I knew him very young, I was 17 and Loulou was twenty years older than me. But I knew Loulou Gasté because he was my idol in the north, I sang all these songs, so for me Loulou Gasté, in my imagination, he was an elderly gentleman, who must have been 60. When I met Loulou for the first time, he said to me: ‘Do you want to see me?’, I said: ‘No you, your father.’ So he said to me: ‘Listen, if you want to play tennis it’s my father, but if you want to sing, it’s me.’ That’s how I met Loulou!”, she said on the set ofAs an aside.
