According to Meteonews, the great heat will shift to south-west Europe over the course of the week. It is likely to be the hottest in central and southern Spain as well as in parts of Portugal. Locally up to 45 degrees are possible! This also increases the risk of forest fires in the affected regions. It is also very hot in southern France and northern Italy with up to 40 degrees in some places.
No relaxation in sight
Even if the heat wave is now rolling from east to west – the forest fires in south-eastern Europe and Italy are still not easing, according to the weather service. The reason: there are at most a few showers and thunderstorms and it remains well over 30 degrees hot.
Temperatures are also rising again in Switzerland. As early as Friday, 30 degrees and a little more are possible again. According to Meteonews, however, it is unclear how long the heat will stay with us and whether there will even be a real heat wave. (bra)
