In Méribel, the torchlight descent scheduled for children on December 28 has been canceled due to lack of sufficient snow. Located at 1450 meters, in the heart of the Three Valleys (Méribel-Courchevel-Les Ménuires-Val Thorens), the resort has been deprived of part of the Christmas magic. Vacationers are torn between the pleasure of enjoying the sunny terraces and the regret of seeing certain slopes closed. “It’s not the classic landscape you expect to see at this time, testifies Roland, a Parisian vacationer. On Monday, due to too mild weather accompanied by rain, half of the ski slopes were closed in France. A blow for mountain professionals, when the season had started well.
