Helicopter mission – forest workers seriously injured on the Turrach

On Tuesday afternoon there was a forest accident on the Turracherhöhe. A 35-year-old Bosnian suffered serious injuries.

At around 1:30 p.m., the 35-year-old was carrying out woodwork using a cable winch. He attached logs to a rope. They were then pulled up a slope with a winch attached to an excavator. During the work, the rope became wedged in a wooden stump, came loose and snapped at the worker’s head. The forest worker suffered serious injuries. After the first aid, the man was flown to the LKH Villach by rescue helicopter.
