A serious forestry accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at Niederalpl in the municipality of Neuberg an der Mürz (Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district).
In the course of clearing up the fallen trees that blocked the L113 in the Niederalpl-Passhöhe area after the storm on the Easter weekend, a serious forestry accident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Red Cross. A 25-year-old forestry worker from the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district sustained a several centimeter long and deep cut in the abdomen area with a chainsaw for unknown reasons. Other people present immediately started the rescue chain and provided exemplary first aid. After emergency first aid was provided by the crew of the Christophorus 17 emergency doctor helicopter and the crew of an ambulance from the Mariazellerland Red Cross, the injured person was flown to the Hochsteiermark State Hospital, Leoben location Red Cross Mariazellerland with an ambulance, the emergency doctor helicopter Christophorus 17 and the police.
