here is how to recognize the different variants according to the symptoms

Between British, Brazilian, South African and Breton variants, the possibilities of contagion to a new form of Covid-19 are increasing. Certain symptoms would make it possible to differentiate them.

In this month of March 2021, on French territory, it is the British variant which circulates the most actively, with a presence in 75% of contaminations. This variant is also more contagious according to doctors. Variants can be responsible for re-infections, even when you have already had Covid. Some symptoms that may indicate infection with a new form of the coronavirus

From the statements of the patients, English doctors classified the pains and sensations which fluctuate. 35% of patients affected by the English variant reported coughing, compared with 28% of covid patients with the classic form. Then, fatigue is a more recurrent symptom for this variant: 32% of patients with the English strain say they are more tired, against 29% of people with the classic strain. Finally, a quarter of patients report muscle pain, against a fifth of people affected by the classic strain of the virus. Sore throats are also more common with an English virus infection, as are fever flares. The only good news: less often loss of taste and smell.

On the side of the South African and Brazilian variants, on the other hand, the symptoms are the same as the classic strain: fever, cough, stiffness with loss of taste and smell. Finally, concerning the Breton variant, it does not seem more aggressive, but is more difficult to detect with PCR tests. Proof, if still needed, that caution remains in order, one year after the start of the pandemic.
