In the last episodes of Here it all begins, broadcast every evening at 6:40 p.m. on TF1, viewers were able to witness a birth romance between Deva (Kathy Packianathan), one of the first year students of the Auguste Armand institute, and Souleymane (Dembo Camilo), Antoine Myriel’s son, who moved in with his father after dropping out of business studies.
Crossing each other in the halls of the school, the two fell in love almost instantly. To convince his father that he was interested in cooking and had his place in the establishment, Souleymane then got down to preparing a dish, asking Deva to help him.
To thank her, he then surprised her by inviting her to spend an evening alone, in a setting reminiscent of the Indian festival of lights in tribute to the origins of the young girl. After seeing them exchange a kiss, we could therefore logically expect to see the two young people start a beautiful love story at the institute.
But that was without counting on Deva’s past, which the young student has been trying to hide since arriving at school when asked about it. Unfortunately for Souleymane, the young student will decide to end their relationship, because she turns out to be already engaged!
Deva will reveal to Souleymane that their relationship is impossible because she is already engaged with a man living in India in Pondicherry, and that she is to marry at the end of her studies. When Souleymane asks her if she is in love, she explains to him that it is about a man whom she has known since childhood, and that their respective families are friends.
For Souleymane, it is a forced marriage and does not understand that Deva does not revolt against this decision. But the young girl retorts to him that it is about an arranged marriage, and that he judges things which he does not know. The two will then argue and Deva, annoyed, will leave the young man in the dark …
Are their feelings going to be stronger than this revelation? Will Deva question this choice? To be continued in the next episodes.
