here’s how to see the new epilogue

Patch 5 has officially been deployed for Baldur’s Gate 3, and it includes an epilogue. We show you how to get this never-before-seen scene.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has finally released its new patch, adding big changes to the adventure. The latter reminds us how much Larian takes care of his game, which reinforces the Dantesque success he has had since his release. Soon, it will make its debut on Xbox Series, and in the meantime, other players can take advantage of the new update which has, in a way, transformed the game, going so far as to add two new modes. The studio also tells us that it has added an epilogue that takes place after the finale. Here’s how to unlock it.

WARNING, the following article includes SPOILERS regarding the end of Baldur’s Gate 3. You have been warned.

First of all, it is important to remember that even if you have finished Baldur’s Gate 3, it is still possible to watch the epilogue. To do this, simply load a save located just before the last fight. Then, you must take part in the confrontation against the Infernal Brain. Once defeated, you are given a choice: dominate it or destroy it. If you want to see the epilogue, it is important to choose the “Destroy” option. Then you can enjoy a never-before-seen heart-warming scene. However, some players seem to have difficulty unlocking the new epilogue of Baldur’s Gate 3. Larian advises uninstalling the mods. If the problem persists, it is possible to work around it using the Script Extender via BG3 Mod Manager.

The destroyed Netherbrain is the end of an adventure that lasted many hours. Whether for the player or the protagonists, a well-deserved rest is required. You saved the world, your companions are alive, in short, it’s a good ending. So it’s time to celebrate your victory alongside them. The epilogue to this Baldur’s Gate takes place six months after the end, and shows you partying at camp with your comrades. Previously, Baldur’s Gate 3 ended with a monologue from Withers, which was still much less festive.

You quickly understand why it is absolutely necessary to destroy the Infernal Brain, and not dominate it. If you do, the credits will play immediately, with new cutscenes available. Well, as we said above, it is always possible to load an old save just in case. In any case, it’s a nice addition from Larian, who describes the scene as a “final goodbye”. We advise you not to miss it, because many lines of dialogue have been added. All you have to do is discover them for yourself.

Two new game modes that will delight

As for the new game modes, from Baldur’s Gate 3 they will offer you a very different experience. The first, called Honor, gives you a single save for the entire adventure. To make matters worse, the enemies are more fierce, and more than 30 new modifications to all the confrontations have been added thanks to theLegendary action. It’s a great challenge to take on, and the reward may be worth it. Indeed, by overcoming this overwhelming challenge, you will obtain the famous D20 gold.

The second, Custom mode, is a little different. It allows you to modify your gaming experience, by making it, for example, more punitive. In particular, we can hide the roll necessary to make successful throws, or the life points of opponents in combat. However, if you want to make your life easier, you will have the removal of saving throws against death, among other things. We are typically in the spirit of a role-playing game on paper, and it is the developers’ objective to give us this feeling.
