I think people are going to love the adaptation. Of course, I knew there were worried people. When something is so precious to you as a spectator, as a player, it’s obvious that you’re going to be afraid of adaptation. But honestly, I think people are going to love it. She is relatively emotionally loyal, she is respectful of the game and pays homage to it. But the live-action adaptation brings it new life. The series explores things that weren’t explored in the game. I really think people will love it. I hope. It was so much fun to shoot, a real experience. I hope the public will feel the same when they embark on this adventure with us.
In a nutshell, she thinks people “will love” The Last of Us series. And we also hope so because the bet is extremely risky given the power and quality of the original material, but also the very many failures until today. It will be imperative that the alchemy operates between Bella Ramsey and her play colleague Pedro Pascal for whom she has shown a lot of affection. “Working with Pedro was so much fun. They do some really smart stuff, that’s all I can say. It’s similar to how Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni treat The Mandalorian. She’s in good hands because Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann love The Last of Us so much. It’s really made for people who love the game. And for people who aren’t familiar with it, there’s a very intense storytelling
