On February 27, The Parisian revealed that Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi was targeted by a rape investigation following the accusation of a 24-year-old young woman who, however, did not file a complaint. On March 2, the Nanterre prosecutor’s office announced that the footballer had been indicted by an investigating judge and placed under judicial control. While she had not yet spoken, Hiba Abouk, the wife of the footballer with whom she is in the process of divorce after three years of marriage, has decided to testify for the first time.
“Today, I feel compelled to make this statement public to express my state of mind and clarify the misinformation that is circulating (…) If silence can be useful in certain matters or delicate situations, I urgently need to explain myself”, she declared in the columns of the Spanish daily El País. Words that she also chose to share through her Instagram story this Monday, March 27.

If the 36-year-old actress decided to speak, it is mainly because she wishes “to resume [sa] life personal, public and professional in the least harmful and traumatic way possible”, while making a point of honor to protect her children who are her “top priority“. Hiba Abouk and Achraf Hakimi are, in fact, the parents of two little boys: Amin, born in 2020 and Naim, born two years later.
Hiba Abouk also clarified that she and the footballer were separated long before this rape case. “The father of my children and I took the decision to end our relationship long before the events occurred“, she wanted to clarify. “After making the decision to legally separate and cease living together, pending divorce proceedings, who would have imagined that in addition to facing the well-known pain that separation entails, and accepting the grief of the failure of a family project (…) it would be necessary that I face this ignominy. I needed time to digest this shock”, she added. Before concluding : “We still have to trust in the proper conduct of justice, especially given the seriousness of the accusation. It goes without saying that in my life I have always been and will always be on the side of the victims.“
