Hideaki Itsuno (Dragon’s Dogma, Devil May Cry) teases Capcom’s next project

Hideaki Itsuno of Capcom, in particular director of Dragon’s dogma and main episodes of the famous saga Devil may cry, teased the announcement of his next game with a tweet for the new year. The successor of Dragon’s dogma at stake ?

Dragons May Cry

In this tweet posted on December 31 for the transition to 2022, Hideaki advises us to watch his next title which, according to him, has progressed well over the past twelve months. The director and designer had already announced that he was working on this new project in January 2021. Consistency is therefore essential in his teasing, and all eyes naturally turn to the probable successor of Dragon’s dogma, released in 2012.

In 2019, Hideaki mentioned having hesitated between Devil May Cry 5 and Dragon’s Dogma 2 for the choice of his next game. DMC 5 was obviously his final choice, but we can imagine that his RPG is still close to his heart.

let’s remember that Devil May Cry 5 will celebrate its 3 years in March, and that Dragon’s dogma will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year, and almost 6 million copies sold between the original game and its expansion Dark Arisen. While nothing official has yet been announced, the stars seem well aligned for an upcoming announcement this year.
