From Europe to Asia: high vaccination rates, low incidences: the corona situation is relaxed in these holiday destinations
While the corona numbers are currently exploding in Germany and Austria, the situation in many holiday countries looks much more relaxed. We have selected the top vacation destinations in Europe, Asia, America and Africa with the highest vaccination rates and lowest incidences.
Where to go on your next vacation? At the moment, this question is preoccupying a lot of people who still have remaining vacation or are planning vacation for the coming year. We have the current corona numbers of many countries around the world, which are surveyed by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) (vaccination rate of fully vaccinated persons and 7-day incidence). Not all of them are based on daily reports, but the vaccination rates are already showing which holiday countries are safe.
Europe: Vaccination world champions Portugal and Malta
The situation on the Iberian Peninsula is currently the least worrying. Spain shines with a vaccination rate of over 80 percent and an incidence of just over 70. Germany is classified as a risk area in Spain, which is why only vaccinated, convalescent or tourists with a negative test result (not older than 72 hours) and a completed form from Spain Travel Health Portal and QR code.
The neighboring country Portugal has a significantly higher incidence of over 150, but with a vaccination rate of 88 percent it is one of the vaccination world champions. Vacationers need a negative test to enter the country and have to take a fever at the airport.
It is also relatively good Italy with an incidence of 108.7 and a vaccination rate of 73 percent. Vaccinated, convalescent or tested persons must register on entry using an online form.
The situation on the island is even more relaxed Malta with an incidence of 98.6 and one of the highest vaccination rates in the world: 88 percent! Vaccinated or recovered German citizens are allowed to enter Germany as long as Germany is still on the red list and does not slip onto the dark red list.
In France the vaccination rate is 69 percent, the incidence is 189. Before traveling to the Turkey the Federal Foreign Office is currently warning that the country is a high-risk area. The vaccination rate is currently 59 percent, the incidence is 192.1.
Asia: Japan lowest incidence, Singapore highest vaccination rate
Under the Asian countries stands Japan With a negligibly low incidence of 0.8 and a vaccination rate of 76 percent, it is currently best there. However, this does not help tourists, as everyone, including those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered, must be quarantined for 14 days after entry.
The city-state Singapore Although it has a record-breaking vaccination rate of 92 percent, it has an incidence of 274.8. In addition, it is classified as a high-risk area by the Federal Foreign Office, a travel warning applies. The same applies to the popular long-haul travel destination Thailand zu, which has an incidence of 66 with a vaccination rate of 56 percent.
With a vaccination rate of 67 percent and an incidence of 162.8, the Maldives among the safest countries in Asia. Tourists can enter with a negative PCR test (maximum 96 hours old) and a booking confirmation for a resort. Vaccination is only mandatory for those who want to visit inhabited islands, so-called local islands.
Even Sri Lanka has a relatively high vaccination rate for the region at 64 percent, with an incidence of 24.6. All holidaymakers aged three and over must present a negative PCR test in English to enter Sri Lanka.
Africa: United Arab Emirates highest vaccination rate, Mauritius 0 incidence
The East African island nation Mauritius is one of the few countries in the world that has a 0.0 incidence. With the current vaccination rate of 69 percent, the islands in the Indian Ocean are a safe destination for tourists. Entry is only possible for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered with a PCR test. The Seychelles, on the other hand, have a relatively high vaccination rate of 78 percent, but also a high incidence of 265.
In South Africa the vaccination rate is 23 percent, which is very low by international standards. The incidence is only 7. Travelers from the age of six must present a negative Covid-19 test (not older than 72 hours) on arrival at the airport.

Vacationers can enter the seven emirates for short-term stays, but the test requirements before departure are different. America: Cuba and Chile with the highest vaccination rates
