Designed as a reboot, the game “Mortal Kombat 1” will hit the shelves on September 19. The studio took advantage of San Diego Comic Con to unveil new images that were necessarily bloody, as well as friendly guests!
baptized Mortal Kombat 1the new installment of the indestructible Mortal Kombat video game saga is technically the 12th installment in the franchise, even if a reboot is hidden under this title.
Still developed by NetherRealm Studios under the leadership of the indestructible progenitor of the saga, Ed Boon, the upcoming game will introduce a new Mortal Kombat universe created by the god of fire Liu Kang, in which fans will find reimagined versions of iconic characters.
Since the formalization of the title last May, the studio regularly unveils new images of this indestructible franchise born 31 years ago. Taking advantage of the San Diego Comic Con held this weekend, a round table was organized around Ed Boon, who was notably accompanied by actress Kelly Hu (X-Men 2, Arrow, BMF …), who lent herself to the performance session capture to embody the character of Li Mei. And Yuri Lowenthal, who plays the ninja Smoke in the MK game.
The next playable characters to join the game’s main roster are Li Mei, Tanya, and Baraka. These three fighters have appeared in a new trailer highlighting the Umgadi, a battalion of warrior priestesses entirely devoted to protecting the royal family of the Underworld. The video also reveals new gameplay insight, as well as story elements.

For this Mortal Kombat 1in addition to characters from the lore (the sorcerer Quan Chi, the ninja Ermac…), Homelander from The Boys series, Peacemaker, and Omni-Man (inspired by the comics and the animated television series Invincible) will be at the party!

Mortal Kombat 1 is expected for September 19, 2023. By the still very distant release of Mortal Kombat 2 in theaters, whose filming started in June has been suspended due to the strike currently hitting Hollywood, you will have plenty of time by then to spin the game as an appetizer.
