The Chinese division of Honda has formalized a triplet of new electric two-wheelers.

These models are mainly intended to seduce the young Chinese generation while drawing on the history of the brand.

Honda goes all out on electric two-wheelers

A few months ago, the Honda group confirmed its desire to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040 with regard to its two-wheelers. This electric offensive is reflected in particular by the EM1 scooter presented at the end of last year, but also by a trio of new two-wheelers just made official.

It is the Chinese division of the manufacturer which is responsible for presenting the new models to come, all of which are directly inspired by the DNA of the Japanese brand. These are the Dax e, Cub e and Zoomer e, all certified “zero emissions” of course.

New with old

Honda notably presented its Dax e, the 100% electric version of the Dax, the first model of which dates back to 1969. For this 2023 version, Honda has obviously modernized the design of its emblematic two-wheeler while giving it a new electric motor.

It’s not just any scooter here, but rather an electric-assisted bicycle. There are pedals, but also a maximum speed limited to 25 km / h. “ By taking the unique design motif of models of yesteryear and adding advanced features and equipment, Honda aims to bring value, surprise and choice to young Chinese customers. “explains the brand.

The little Dax is not the only one to benefit from an electric resurrection in 2023 at Honda, since this is also the case for the Cub motorcycle, launched for the first time in 1959.

Here again, we benefit from a modernized general design and an electric motor, with a side that is both comfortable and urban. Despite the scooter orientation, it is an electrically assisted bicycle with pedals and a speed limited to 25 km/h.

Same regarding the latest model presented by Honda, the Zoomer e which takes up the very adventurous design of the eponymous scooter launched in 2002.

Despite a very assumed scooter orientation, this new Zoomer e also has small pedals. The marketing of this new trio of electric two-wheelers signed Honda is, for the time being, planned in China only.
