Hot Wheels Unleashed passes 2 million sales milestone

“We’re always happy to find great partners who help us bring Mattel brands to fans in new ways. Milestone has done an amazing job with Hot Wheels Unleashed and we’re glad the entire Hot Wheels community loved the game as much as we loved creating it.” Mike DeLaet, general manager of digital games at Mattel has reason to be excited about the results of the all-arcade racing game Hot Wheels Unleashed.

(Hot) Wheels of Fire

2 million sales, and no less than 8 million players, all media combined (Game Pass and PS Plus included) in less than 18 months of operation. Say the racing game Hot Wheels displays a more than honorable commercial score would be an understatement. Commercial figures which prove two things according to the communicators of Mattel and Milestone: first of all that the license Hot Wheels has an audience that is all for it, and that the hyper customizable formula of the title has conquered the hearts of players.

With its vehicle livery customization possibilities allowing all the madness (to compete with a small car redecorated with the worst bad taste is always a pleasure), and its very complete circuit editor, the Milestone title had serious sales arguments. The fans were not mistaken, and at the time of writing these lines, Hot Wheels Unleashed offers more than a million liveries for its vehicles, and more than 350,000 tracks created by players. And for those who haven’t had their dose of small cars, remember that a DLC Hot Wheels is also available for Forza Horizon 5.
