Bizarre beer dispute in Offenbach
How much alcohol can a football fan drink? If the health department of the city of Offenbach has its way, it may be a maximum of “two small beers or wine”. The authorities worry that drunk followers will not adhere to the corona regulations. Regional soccer team Offenbacher Kickers is outraged.
How many beers can a Offenbacher Kickers supporter drink in the stadium? That is the core question of a bizarre dispute that the regional league team raised about the friendly against Rot-Weiss Essen on Thursday evening. The club received numerous insults by email or phone call. But the OFC is not responsible for the rules. Sobotzik declared that they “fought against it with all means at our disposal”. “We have submitted an injunction to the Darmstadt Administrative Court to revoke the decision.” As the “Hessenschau” reports, other clubs in the region do not have such strict regulations with regard to wearing a mask and alcohol.
In order to talk about proportionality, Sobotzik used another example: “In the beer garden or at the weekly market I can theoretically order ten beers and buy a bottle of whiskey. Not that I would do that, but my aim is to that here the Offenbach football fan is disadvantaged. “
