Gmail provides options to specifically target an email address, to stop receiving any correspondence from it. This is a different option than marking mail as spam.
Gmail is undoubtedly the most used webmail on the net. However, Internet users do not always use the full range of features. Who knows, for example, that you can program the sending of an email on Gmail? Or that we can add an acknowledgment of receipt of email? Power users of course. What about less competent people?
Thus, Gmail provides an option that allows you to target an email address to specifically block it – for example, a correspondent who does not meet the criteria of filters against spam. This function appears in a list of secondary parameters, which can be accessed by going to one of the emails sent by the recipient you want to ban.
Block an address on Gmail
- Go to one of the emails from the address you want to block;
- Click on the vertical ellipsis on the far right of the mail;
- Select “Block…”;
- Confirm with the “Block” button;
- A message “Email address blocked. » will appear at the bottom left;
Unblock an address on Gmail
If you have blocked an email inadvertently and you are still in the email, you can unblock it by following the same path. For other cases, you must follow this procedure:
- Go to your Gmail box;
- Click on the toothed wheel at the top right, near your profile picture;
- Choose “See all settings”;
- Go to “Filters and blocked addresses”;
- Click on “Unblock” on the address(es) of your choice (you also have the option of unblocking everything en masse).
