Scooter have just released a new album. HP Baxxter is now talking about the current difficult situation for the culture industry.

Scooter have just released their latest album “God Save The Rave” and have entered the official German album charts at number four – even though excessive nightlife and big celebrations are currently not possible due to the corona pandemic. This is exactly where it belongs, Scooter’s music. The band is “optimistic” that the rave will “definitely go on”, no matter when that may be, “maybe at the end of 2021, but certainly next year when our big tour is coming up”. This is what front man HP Baxxter (57) says in conversation with the “St. Galler Tagblatt”.

Not back to the Neanderthals

One therefore hopes at Scooter that they will be able to “play shows in late summer”, which he does not consider to be ruled out. A big tour through Europe is then planned from March 2022. Baxxter sees culture in itself as “definitely systemically relevant. If we were only reduced to the elementary needs such as eating, drinking and sleeping, we would be back to the Neanderthals in no time at all.”

The current situation even made the band think about whether they might want to reissue their song “FCK 2020”. Scooter “actually thought about a remix”. Baxxter hopes, however, that the situation is better and not a “Fuck 2021” version is needed.

Baxxter also answered the question of how the band would celebrate when everything was back to normal: “Then we’ll be on stage faster than you can see.” And certainly with tracks from the 20th studio album “God Save The Rave” and some classics.
