Hundreds of euros lost – scammers have high season: parcel never delivered

A 29-year-old from Klagenfurt ordered fishing accessories on the Internet. His delivery has already paid for, but the package was never delivered.

At the end of October 2021, the 29-year-old from Klagenfurt was looking for fishing accessories on an internet platform. He was then contacted by a seller who had offered him the accessories for sale. A sales price of several hundred euros was agreed, which was transferred immediately. “Package could not be delivered to Austria” A week later, the seller sent a confirmation of delivery. The buyer could observe the progress of the shipment and see that the package had arrived at a parcel center in Germany. Thereupon a message was sent to the buyer that his package could not be delivered because the address details “Austria” would be missing. The 29-year-old was then able to observe via the shipment history that his package was being sent back to the sender in the Netherlands, and the seller could no longer be reached.
