“I almost set the house on fire,” Hillary Duff avoids kitchen disaster

Very good at preparing salads and cold dishes, Hillary Duff has more difficulty with all foods that are likely to burn.

Former Disney star Hillary Duff had a culinary disaster this week. With the goal of cooking a good meal for her and her husband, musician Matthew Koma, the young woman almost set fire to her kitchen. “I almost set the house on fire.”, she posted on Instagram. The photo shared by the actress shows what can be identified as burnt broccoli at the bottom of a dish.

Starting with a good intention, the actress then began preparing a sushi bowl. The latter is composed of raw salmon and tuna, rice, sea urchin and dried seaweed. If this second attempt was a success, his broccoli was a little less so. “I prepared this! And thank God, because 45 minutes before, I did that…”she commented, comparing her two preparations.

“I like to be healthy and do activities that make me feel strong,” says the Disney star

If the actress now enjoys cooking, that wasn’t always the case. At the age of 17, the actress who played Lizzie Mcguire on Disney struggled with anorexia. “Because of my career choice, I (couldn’t) help but say to myself: “I’m in front of the camera and the actresses are skinny. It was horrible”, she said in an interview with Women’s Health Australia.

Back on her feet, the 35-year-old managed to overcome her eating disorder. Between sport and a good diet such as her sushi bowl, Hillary Duff has found a healthy and balanced lifestyle. “I like being healthy and doing activities that make me feel strong instead of just improving the exterior of my body”, said the actress. The latter now spends her time with those around her, “people who make me feel good with people who make me feel good and share similar views on health and body positivity”she added.
