The thesis of Doctor Anaëlle CHERMAT directed by Doctor Jérémy TRICARD – Cardiothoracic surgeon, evaluates the clinical follow-up of 40 sternal implant poses developed by I. CERAM and Doctor François BERTIN, as part of the evaluation of sternal reconstructions after Primary oncological resection (cutting of part or all of the sternum). The conclusions of this thesis confirm that the sternal implant simplifies the technique of sternal reconstruction and improves the operative consequences by making it reproducible in these complex pathologies. Used in 40 cases of patient care and in 16 European centers, this technology, which benefits from CE marking and quality clinical follow-up, perfectly meets the criteria for an “ideal” reconstruction of the sternum.
