“I didn’t expect that”, the appearance of this candidate leaves the jury speechless

A space-time rift? This Saturday February 24, 2024, TF1 broadcasts the third part of the blind auditions of the new season ofThe Voice. After being surprised last week by Mickael Jiminy’s original performance on the title “Leave Me Alone” by NF, Vianney, Zazie, Mika, Bigflo and Oli remained silent this weekend by discovering theLilian’s equally special profile . “I can not believe it”, was astounded by the interpreter of “Relax” upon discovering this 18-year-old nurse who decided to try his luck on a not really contemporary piece : “my legionary” by Edith Piaf.

“I don’t know his name, I don’t know anything about him. He loved me all night, my legionnaire. And leaving me to my destiny, he left into the morning full of light”, sang this blond with youthful features with a Parisian titi talk from the 1930s. It must be said that Lilian lives for the music of another time, as he described it in his portrait. Gramophones, suitcase record players… Its interior is a veritable cabinet of curiosities and reflects his particular musical tastesfor a man of his age. “It’s not old fashioned, old songs. Music has no age, you have to know how to listen to it and how to feel it”, he assured the front page cameras.

The Voice jury seduced by Lilian’s glibness

The second member of the jury to have swiveled her red armchair, Zazie also remained speechless upon discovering that the candidate who stood in front of her was not an octogenarian, but was indeed a young man in his prime of age. “We are in The Voice, there”, exclaimed the 59-year-old artist. And to continue, visibly still in shock: “We are in an image that we can create with a song like that, which is not new, and then we turn around and we see a very young man.”

Moreover, Lilian surprised the quartet of coaches and the public a second time when he began to introduce himself with disconcerting ease and maturity . The student proudly revealed his repertoire: “ It starts in 1930 with Mistinguette and I stop in 1970 with Maxime Le Forestier… When I work in nursing homes, they like the old people.” A statement which did not fail to amuse the interpreter of “I am a man”, who declared:“I like the character.”

“We’ve never had anyone like you”

Quickly, all the jury members got up from their chairs to take a closer look at Lilian and his own style. “If I may say so, you look great!”, underlined Mika while observing Lilian’s clothes and her many jewels having belonged to his ancestors. “It’s a phenomenon”, added Nikos Aliagas backstage, alongside the candidate’s relatives.

If he did not turn around, Vianney still insisted on salute Lilian for her naturalness : “Boy, you’re one of the freest candidates we’ve ever had. It’s wonderful to see that and I’m glad you’re advertising this directory.” Same story from Mika, who declared: “Honestly, we’ve never had someone like you in ten years of The Voice! Today, most people love music the same way, and you have your own way of loving music and that inspires us, so well done.” A speech which visibly touched Lilian in the heartsince it was with the director’s companion Andreas Dermanis that he decided to continue the adventure.
