However, Line Renaud regularly exchanged with Emmanuel Macron, in particular on the subject of end of life. Interviewed by LCI in December 2023, Line Renaud, engaged in this cause for six years, launched a cry from the heart to the president to legislate on the question of euthanasia, a fight that is dear to him. In particular, she expressed her frustration and dismay at government inaction on this sensitive issue, saying she be “angry”. Line Renaud: “Giscard, I hated him!”
Beyond her relations with the Macron couple, Line Renaud also mentioned in her interview with Paris Match his interactions with certain presidents French over the years. She notably shared a less warm memory concerning Valéry Giscard d’Estaingin power from 1974 to 1981. With a touch of humor, she admitted: “Giscard, I hated him! And I showed it well. It was so bogus to invite yourself to dinner at people’s houses, to cover ‘Etoile des neiges’ on the accordion.” On the other hand, the review leader expressed great affection for Francois Hollandewhich she considers “the true heir of Jacques Chirac“but “and funnier”.
