Evangeline Lilly returned to the period when she was the leading female role in the series Lost, the disappeared. The show made her known to the public, but the actress had a bad time on the set for a long time. In the podcast Happy Sad Confusedshe confided her feelings at the time:
We had these “Lost parties” where the cast would get together to watch the show and when it was a Kate-centric episode I wanted to nestle in a mousehole and die because I knew I was bad .
Looking back, the actress is still not tender with the one she was 20 years ago when she first presented to the public her character of Kate Austen, heroine with a troubled past arriving on the mysterious island. from Lost:
“Even today, I maintain that I can see the first two seasons and no longer know where to put myself because I’m not good.”

This depreciation of her work on the series will still last almost three years, before the actress almost resigns herself to getting more involved:
(…) In season 3, something changed. I went from “freakish, rookie, spinning headlong and on instinct” to “I hate this, I don’t want to do this, get me out of here”, to “oh, I guess if I’m there and stuck, that I’m going to stay, I should manage”. It was during Season 3, and I started really trying to learn my craft.
Since then, Evangeline Lilly has starred in a few feature films (including some from The Hobbit saga) and was cast as Hope Van Dyne aka the Wasp in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
First appearing in Ant-Man in 2015, she then appeared in the cast of two Avengers films (Infinity War and Endgame) and two other solo films of the Ant-Man character, including one recently released this year.
