Nine months after the announcement of Henry Cavill’s departure from The Witcher, his former colleagues are still saddened by this news which upsets the Netflix series.
Number 3 of Netflix’s top views, The Witcher has made a comeback on the platform. The adventures of the Witcher Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) have been split into two parts for season 3. Five episodes are already available and the second salvo of 3 episodes will be available on July 27.
In this new season, Geralt and Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) do everything to protect Ciri (Freya Allan) from the monarchs, mages and creatures of the continent while training her to master her power and strength.
Traveling underground, the group faces multiple dangers that bring them even closer together and make these lonely beings an amazing but close-knit family. Unfortunately for the interpreters of the heroes and heroines of The Witcher, this family will undergo a big change in the fourth season.
Henry Cavill is already missing from The Witcher cast
This is news that had the effect of a bomb at the end of October 2022: Henry Cavill leaves the Netflix series at the end of season 3 and it is Liam Hemsworth who will take his place in the mutant monster hunter skin. The Witcher fans were very angry after the announcement and the rest of the cast very sad.

But it would seem that the information is still difficult to digest, still nine months after the news, even for the main interested party who had launched a tackle to the screenwriters of the Netflix series during the TUDUM event.
But the actors are also very sad to know that season 3 is the last lap of Henry Cavill, who did not participate in the promotional tour of the new episodes.
In an interview for moviepilotAnya Chalotra (Yennefer), Freya Allan (Ciri) and Joey Batey (Jaskier) made it clear that they still had trouble digesting the departure of the British actor from The Witcher.
“He gave me so many amazing tips and was always there” explains Anya Chalotra. For her, Henry Cavill was “an important part of the series” but also of his career, which really took off internationally thanks to The Witcher. “I miss him a lot”she concludes.
Same sadness on the side of Freya Allan, whom Henry Cavill took under his wing and who created a healthy and secure work environment for the young actress of 21 years, who had many more action scenes in season 3 from the Serie :
“Doing the fight scenes with him this year has been an amazing experience. He obviously excels at what he does in the stunt world. He has a lot of experience. And doing that with him was really unique.”
Freya Allan is already thinking about the future and season 4 and she admits that it will be difficult for her to play with another actor, with whom it will be necessary to recreate an alchemy: “When I play Ciri, I always have a certain face in mind. That’s why it will be very strange when we meet again and the face will be different”.

For his part, Joey Batey, who plays Dandelion, already remembers the good times, especially off set, spent with Henry Cavill:
“These are the little moments away from the cameras. The little looks or the jokes we made to each other. The endless laughter during five years of working together. But also the affection we have for each other. Henry “He’s a very conscientious person. He was very present and he had his eyes everywhere. He notices things that other people don’t see.”
Despite the sadness and disappointment, the actors of The Witcher do not feel bitterness towards their colleague and will always have a place in their hearts for Henry Cavill. Anya Chalotra is eager to see what the future will now hold for the former interpreter of Geralt de Riv and summarizes the situation as follows: “All good things come to an end”.
