Elizabeth II gave her traditional Christmas speech from Windsor. This year, Her Majesty moved the people of Britain by paying a most touching tribute to her late husband Prince Philip, as reported by the Daily Mail.
New Year’s Eve has sounded somewhat differently for Elizabeth II This year. For the first time in 65 years, the Queen of England passes indeed the end of year celebrations without the presence of her late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, left on April 9. From an office in Windsor Castle, the Queen has thus sent his best wishes to the English people while evoking on multiple occasions the member of his missing family. A moving tribute punctuated by wonderful memories of Elizabeth II who remembered “the mischievous glow“and the laughter of his half while lamenting the void left by the latter as reported by our colleagues from the Daily mail this December 25: “I miss my beloved Philip!”

Final nod to Prince Phillip, His Majesty wore during this solemn speech the sapphire brooch nicknamed the “honeymoon” brooch which she took on her honeymoon with the Duke of Edinburgh in 1947. The Queen’s Most Personal Message
According to experts, the 2021 Christmas message the Queen was also his most intimate. Very discreet in normal times, Elizabeth II had hitherto mentioned his devastating loss sparingly.
