“The secret hid a crime.” It was with these words that the testimony of Rozenn, guest of Faustine Bollaert in It starts today on France 2, Wednesday January 31, 2024. This woman, now 64 years old, came to testify on set about her painful past. “You discovered that your parents were not your parents. You were around forty years old.”launched the French favorite presenter. “I was robbed at birth, well, even before I was born”replied the guest, who also wrote a book on her extraordinary story, A name to be reborn (Le Cherche Midi, 2009), before explaining that she was born in 1960 in “a somewhat difficult situation at the time”. His biological mother, then pregnant but not married, was suffering from tuberculosis. During her convalescence, she entrusted her newborn to a nun who had promised to find her a “godmother” to take care of her temporarily, without knowing that she would never find her again.
Rozenn brought justice to her mother
After a stay in a sanatorium for treatment, Rozennn’s biological mother finally returned to pick up her daughter from the “godmother”, according to the agreement planned with the nuns, during her delivery at the Pitié-Salpetrière hospital in Paris. However, as Rozenn explains, she would have received a response from the one who had taken care of the infant “eye to eye ‘ah but no, I recognized her. She’s my daughter now, I’m not giving her back to you.” A recognition procedure made possible because the child had been registered born under X. “Which is absolutely not the case.”, assured the guest present on the set, reaffirming the identity of her mother. If child theft is considered a crime by law, for Rozenn, it is indeed a crime of which she believes she was the victim. Once this terrible secret is discovered, the young woman therefore decided to do justice to her real mother. “I have carried out legal procedures which set a precedent in France”she explained before adding: “The thief did what she did with the complicity of the nun, and then of an accomplice in the hospital, it was proven”.
