Ikumi Nakamura announces her new studio, Unseen

It is therefore in an exclusive interview granted to IGN that Ikumi Nakamura gave more details on this initiative. “The studio will serve as an exchanger. A place where different cultures meet. A hub where artists can gather. We want to go beyond video games to also touch other media“, she explained, specifying that a “cultural mix can come to nurture new ideas, which is the real happiness behind opening a new studio“. We also understand it between the lines: Unseen will not only seek to establish itself in the world of video games but also to create licenses capable of being exported to other media.

The first Unseen game is already in the works, with the emphasis on context and characters, according to the elusive words of Madame Nakamura: “I want to make a game with protagonists who reflect real personalities and minorities, in a universe designed with an open mind and which represents multiple cultures“. She also specifies always moving towards genres – cinematographic, literary, video game – that she appreciates and masters: horror, science fiction, the supernatural. However, she gave no clue as to a possible release window for this famous project, but the studio’s official website lists the main members of the team, which come in particular from Tango Gameworks, Ubisoft, Capcom or Moon Studios.
