  • He expects this to have an impact on the business and asks his customers for their understanding.
  • The Public Service Union (VPOD) announced the strike on Saturday evening.

The strike announced on Saturday evening will have an impact on operations, Geneva Airport writes on its website. “Genève Aéroport deeply regrets this situation and apologizes to the passengers for the inconvenience suffered.”

Due to disagreements over wages and compensation, part of the Dnata workforce stopped work early on Sunday morning. Shortly before 4:30 a.m., around 80 workers gathered at the airport’s Kiss and Fly parking lot, VPOD union secretary Jamshid Pouranpir told the Keystone-SDA news agency. It was said that the further course of the strike would be decided during the strike meetings.

Strike already threatened

The union had already threatened a strike at the beginning of the week. A spokesman for the union told the Keystone-SDA news agency late on Friday evening that no agreement was reached between Dnata’s management and the union before the arbitration chamber in Geneva.
