in addition to being more practical, it is less expensive

After a presentation at the 2023 Milan Motor Show, the new electric Vespas reveal their price list. Good news, the trick that makes them more practical also allows them to be less expensive!

For those who wanted to upgrade to an electric scooter and were eyeing Vespa, until now, there wasn’t much choice. Only the one that lives up to its name, the Elettrica. But at the last two-wheel show in Milan, EICMA 2023 last November, the Italian firm made a big effort by presenting two highly anticipated new products: the Primavera and Sprint S. Still electric.

Beyond the good news of the expanding range, it is also one of the main complaints of the Elettrica which is corrected on these newcomers, at least on the less powerful versions: it is now possible to recharge at home since the battery is removable. Only one unknown remained: the price. And as expected, this too is very good news.

68 km of autonomy, no more

As mentioned above, we are talking here about the Primavera Elettrica in its 45 version, 50 cc equivalent, which has a 48 V and 48 Ah 2.3 kWh battery of LG Chem origin. Weighing 15 kilos, and removable therefore since it is the big new thing, it recharges in 4 hours from 0 to 80% thanks to a 500 W charger. In terms of autonomy, we are talking here of 68 km, while the in-house motor develops him 3.1 kW max and 200 Nm of torque, for a speed limited to 45 km/h.

Characteristics that are found identically in the other new addition to the range, the Vespa Sprint S Elettrica 45 also with removable battery.

By comparison, the Vespa Elettrica, which is already in the Italian manufacturer’s range, is also offered in version 45, but remains more powerful and offers a 4.2 kWh battery with a much greater range: up to 100 km.

Moreover, the new Primavera Elettrica scooter is also offered in a slightly more powerful 70 version (4 kW), with a 4.2 kWh battery. If it also claims 4 hours of charging time, we do not yet know the exact autonomy offered by the model. But probably around 100 km like the Elettrica. On the other hand, charging is done directly via a cable, without a removable battery. No doubt because of the weight of the battery: 25 kilos.

Big price drop at Vespa

Come on, you’ve waited long enough, here are the prices of these two new electric Vespa products. Starting with the Vespa Primavera Elettrica, offered in three colors (green/black/white) whose prices start at 5,199 euros for the 45 version with removable battery. It’s certainly not cheap, but still well below the 6999 euros that the Elettrica already in the catalog in version 45 demands.

As for the version with a slightly more elaborate look, the Vespa Sprint S Elettrica 45, offered in electric green or black, it is barely 100 euros more, or 5,299 euros.
