Lcruising is fun. It’s time for euphoria aboard the river boat which takes the 89 newly elected deputies of the National Rally, under the declining sun of the Hérault, to Agde. The nationalist movement organizes its parliamentary days there – the first since 1987 – and never stops celebrating its first group in the National Assembly for 35 years. Glass of champagne in hand, we sing Sardou while the oldest stare at the horizon without cumulus clouds, they convince themselves, until the next presidential election in 2027. “It’s impressive. I think we won! I’ve been waiting for this for 40 years,” exults Marine Le Pen’s special adviser, Philippe Olivier.
Intoxicated by the ambient bliss, the elected RN only see the bridge gone at the last moment…
