On Saturday around 10:10 am, two workers were busy with sealing work on the terrace of an apartment building in Sautens. In the course of the scarfing work, the thermal insulation below caught fire.
Despite attempts by the two men to extinguish the fire, the fire got out of control, whereupon the emergency call was made by witnesses to the incident.
Fire brigade put out
The voluntary fire brigades Sautens (35 emergency services) and Oetz (15 emergency services) finally managed to bring the fire under control, whereupon “fire out” was reported at around 11:50 am.
No people were injured. There was considerable damage to the apartment building.
