Ihe is 50 cm tall, weighs 3 small kilos, was born at 9:9 p.m. on Saturday 1er January 2022 and is called… Griezmann Mbappé. In Chile, a couple decided to give their son the names of the two attackers of the France team and world champions as their first name. The health services of Atacama, the region where the little boy was born, shared the unusual information on their Twitter account. They also posted pictures of the child, wrapped in a sky blue blanket, and his mom, Teodora.
“We warmly welcome the birth of Griezmann Mbappé, the first baby to be born at Copiapó hospital in 2022,” Atacama health services tweeted.
A precedent attempted in France
According to the Chilean press, the mother, a football fan, wanted to call her son Mbappé, but the father preferred Griezmann. They made a compromise and put the two names together, putting them in alphabetical order.

In France, such an association is impossible. Justice gets involved almost systematically. In March 2019, as recalled Le Figaro, a couple from Corrèze also wanted to call their son Griezmann Mbappé. This first name had been registered on the birth certificate by the civil status officer, who had however taken legal action, considering that such a first name could be prejudicial to the child. The judge had confirmed this opinion, and the parents had finally decided to change to Dany Noé.
