The communist candidate for the Élysée Fabien Roussel defended Sunday, during his first national meeting in Marseille, “the France of the salary and the payroll”, proposing the “roussellement” rather than the runoff dear to Emmanuel Macron.

“Our priority is the world of work. Because the most beautiful wealth of France is you workers, it is those who create, produce, transform, who feed us, care for us, who teach, protect us! It is first of all the France of the salary and the payroll”, he insisted, in front of some 3,500 to 4,000 people waving red flags of the PCF. In front of the activists and supporters of Arnaud Montebourg who joined him, Fabien Roussel stressed that there was “breath in this campaign, it’s moving”.
He repeated his proposals for a minimum wage of 1,500 euros net, 500,000 more jobs in public services, a student income from 850 euros, the increase in small pensions to 1,200 euros net, the nationalization of EDF, the BNP or Axa, the tripling of the ISF or the 32-hour week. “It will be expensive, the President of the Republic told me when I met him! But what is expensive is the privatization of EDF and the highways, it is the increase in the CSG, mutual , rents, and even TV subscriptions for all sports lovers!”, he hammered.
The “Rush”
“What is expensive are the gifts to the great fortunes, it is the rich,” insisted the PCF candidate. To replace Emmanuel Macron’s trickle-down theory of wealth, he proposed “another theory: rolling”, that is to say “irrigate the economy by returning purchasing power to the people”. In terms of education, in addition to the recruitment of 90,000 teachers, he announced a new proposal, very applauded: the end of homework. “Everything will be done at school! I want to extend the time spent in school, but to end the inequalities because of homework”.
Calling himself “ecological and coco to the end”, Fabien Roussel offers in particular “a conversion bonus of 10,000 euros for the purchase of a clean used car” and a free driving license for all under 25. year. And for “a carbon-free France in 2050”, he wants to “invest massively in renewable energies but also in nuclear power”, which differentiates him from other candidates on the left.
Faced with “peddlers of depression, hatred and those who only seek to stir up fears and instill the venom of division”, he judged that his France was “at hand”. “Imagine the head of Macron or Pécresse, if they discover next week, at breakfast, a new poll in Le Figaro, with this title: ‘a spectacular breakthrough by Roussel’: they will swallow their croissant askew !” he quipped. Similarly “imagine a little the head of the extreme right”.
