In northern Germany, long-distance traffic is at a standstill

A technical fault paralyzed all long-distance traffic in northern Germany on Saturday morning. According to Deutsche Bahn, all ICE, IC and EC trains are affected by the disruption.

The railway company writes on its website that there are currently no long-distance travel options to and from Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony in and from Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe, Berlin and North Rhine-Westphalia.

According to Deutsche Bahn, ICE traffic between Berlin, Hanover and North Rhine-Westphalia has also been discontinued. There are also restrictions in international train traffic. The IC trains between Berlin and Amsterdam are affected. The IC trains to Copenhagen end in Padborg.
