The President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron was traveling in Vaucluse this Friday to defend his desired reform of vocational high schools. For more than an hour, the Head of State was confronted with questions from teachers, without forgetting the news.
It was a pre-return Friday for Emmanuel Macron. Traveling to Orange in the Vaucluse, the Head of State came to defend his reform of the vocational high school. Because Emmanuel Macron wants to make the transformation of vocational high schools a great national cause. “When you really look at what is happening, the situation is unacceptable because it is the one at the bottom of the house arrest of a lot of injustices and family determinism”, he explained in particular before the teachers.
“Not a single teacher for less than 2,000 euros”
In total, there will have been more than an hour of discussion in a body shop. On the table: the subject of the courses of course, but also that of the salaries of the teachers: “We pay the teachers badly in France and it is a source of frustration”, thus challenges a woman during the exchange.
“As I speak to you, there is no longer a single teacher who is less than 2,000 euros”, retorts Emmanuel Macron. And “teachers have an average increase of 125 euros more per month”, adds the Minister of Education, Gabriel Attal.
A transformation of timetables
On the question of timetables, the Head of State prefers to defend the autonomy of high schools: “With precisely this transformation, you will have the possibility, if you consider that the students need it, to free up more hours , to take them in a smaller group on the general teachings”, he underlines.
But one news can hide another: if the light was on the reform of the vocational school, the head of state nevertheless recalled that the ban on Abayas at school will take place on Monday. “We won’t let anything pass,” he stressed.
