In the forest in Oppenberg: – Forest workers (56) crushed by tree trunks

Tragic accident on Tuesday afternoon in Oppenberg (Liezen district): A worker from Bosnia was trapped between tree trunks while doing forest work in a forest. The alarmed emergency doctor of the Öamtc rescue helicopter C14 was unfortunately unable to do anything for the 56-year-old. The internal injuries were too severe.

The 56-year-old forest worker from Bosnia was busy roping up tree trunks using a rope crane at around 4 p.m. He may have overlooked the fact that a tree trunk was dragged along by a trunk that was already attached to the rope. The cable winch operated by him by remote control lifted both tree trunks, causing the second unsecured trunk to fall down, hit the 56-year-old directly on the upper body and press against another tree trunk.

The man suffered such serious internal injuries that the alarmed emergency doctor could only determine the death of the man. The rescue of the casualty was carried out by the Rottenmann mountain rescue service. The relatives of the forest worker were informed by the owner of the logging company.
