Encounter. They do not, a priori, agree on anything, but will try to talk to each other despite everything. This Wednesday, April 5, Élisabeth Borne, Prime Minister, receives the eight main trade union organizations to discuss the pension reform. And in order not to contradict each other, the latter met, Tuesday afternoon, at the headquarters of the CFDT, to tune their violins before this summit meeting. “We are going to repeat to the Prime Minister our opposition to 64 years, ask her not to apply this text and to launch a social dialogue on work and pensions”, explains Yvan Ricordeau, the national secretary of the CFDT. But will they be able to find common ground with the head of government who does not want to compromise either?

State trip. Once again, Emmanuel Macron will not be present during the eleventh day of mobilization against the pension reform. Because the President of the Republic is expected in China, this Wednesday, for three days. The Élysée is convinced that Beijing remains “indispensable” in the face of the many challenges of the world, starting with the war in Ukraine, which the Chinese position can, according to Paris, “rock”. Because of its proximity to Russia, “China is the only country in the world in a position to have an immediate and radical impact on the conflict, one way or the other”.

Hearing. From 9 a.m., Gérald Darmanin will be heard by the law commission. Asked about the management of maintaining order, he will be questioned about the police violence that occurred during the demonstrations against the pension reform and during the violent clashes that occurred in Sainte-Soline, in Deux-Sèvres, on the occasion of a demonstration against the “basins”. The same day, this same commission will study the admissibility of the petition on the dissolution of the Brav-M (brigade for the repression of motorized violent action) deposited on the site of the National Assembly. Tuesday evening, it totaled more than 260,000 signatures.
