In the shadow of the dunes on France 3: a “daring” and “surprising” thriller with Bruno Salomone and Mickaël Lumière

France 3 is broadcasting this evening the new TV movie “In the shadow of the dunes”, with Bruno Salomone, Mickaël Lumière (“Why I live”), and Erika Sainte. Has the press been drawn into this investigation against the backdrop of serial murders?

What is it about ?

Becker, a crime cador in Paris, arrives at Julie, his wife who, tired of seeing him put his investigations before everything else, has gone to take refuge with the children in the village of his childhood, between pine forest and ocean. Alas, the region, usually so quiet, is in shock, after a particularly monstrous murder.

A case that worries Evelyne, her mother-in-law in charge of the town hall of the village, who asks her son-in-law to support the local gendarmerie. But how can he hope to win back his wife by resuming his role as a cop who has just arrived? Only, Becker’s curiosity is quickly aroused by this not trivial crime. He immediately launches into the investigation, while the mysterious deaths multiply around them. Double challenge therefore for Becker who will have to unmask the murderer and why not… save his couple.

In the shadow of the dunesdirected by Philippe Dajoux and written by Christian Mouchart, Patrick Tringal, and Julien Guérif.

What the press think…

According to Télé 7 Jours:

“Unlike many detective TV movies whose end is often predictable, this one has a particularly surprising outcome, after a breathless investigation.” 4/5

According to Télé Loisirs:

“Despite a few sentimental overtones, the juxtaposition of the “private life of the investigator” plot to that of the criminal investigation fuels our desire to follow this lovely, slow and exotic thriller to the end. Bruno Salomone , which we are not used to seeing in the investigator’s costume, is convincing.” 3/5

According to TV Star:

“A story rich in twists and turns that tackles themes such as ecology or hunting. (…) Bruno Salomone offers a very convincing performance.” 3/5

According to TV Cable Sat:

“This thriller is successful because it is bold and out of the usual framework.” 3/5

According to Telerama:

“All the commonplaces of France 3 thrillers are here (…). We would be completely bored in front of this aggregate of clichés if Bruno Salomone were not there to hold the TV movie on his shoulders: in poor leadership family obsessed with his job, it turns out to be rather touching.” 2/5
