Incredible but true: Microsoft Flight Simulator becomes playable on smartphones

The breathtaking flight simulation Microsoft Flight Simulator is now playable on mobile devices thanks to cloud technology. gaming.

Microsoft Flight Simulator was already an incredible feat on PC and Xbox. The Asobo studio has indeed succeeded in giving birth to a gigantic aerial simulation, carried by dizzying graphics, a faithful reconstruction of the Earth and gameplay that is both accessible and demanding. But Asobo went even harder, wearing Microsoft Flight Simulator on… the smartphone.

The secret ? The very greedy simulation takes advantage of cloud gaming technology to invest in less efficient platforms – such as a telephone, a tablet or a PC whose characteristics are normally insufficient to run Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The multiplayer experience is identical to that found on PC and Xbox Series X|S, allowing everyone to share the same airspace, regardless of the device used “Welcomes Microsoft in its press release published on March 1.

For the magic to work, your device will connect to servers equipped with Xbox Series X. Obviously, you must have a solid Internet connection for the game to start (20 Mbit/s in reception). It is also necessary to be a subscriber to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, a service that provides access to a library of games for € 12.99 per month.

Thanks to cloud gaming, Microsoft Flight Simulator will be able to reach a new audience: those who love to play on mobile (iOS and Android), who still have an Xbox One or who have a PC whose configuration is insufficient to run Microsoft Flight Simulator. On Microsoft’s less powerful console, the game still manages to offer a high definition image (1080p) and 30 frames per second.

Be careful, if Microsoft Flight Simulator is perfectly playable on a smartphone, you have to connect a Bluetooth controller to be able to fly the plane (no touch control, which makes sense) — we wrote a guide about it. Note also that a small screen will not do justice to the incredible work done by the developers (the graphics are less flashy and can be pixelated). But this possibility remains a feat to be underlined.
