Indiana Jones: this is what Disney should have done a long time ago!

Thanks to the talent of artist Patrick Schoenmaker, we now know what the credits of an animated series dedicated to the adventures of Indiana Jones could look like. And the result makes me want to see what happens next!

After having discovered the Ark of the Covenant, braved the traps of the cursed temple, participated in the last crusade, explored the kingdom of the Crystal Skull and found the Dial of Destiny, does Indiana Jones still have a future on the big screen? or on the small screen?

While his last two adventures (respectively rated 3.07 and 3.52 stars out of 5) have sometimes divided fans of the saga, it is hard to imagine the most famous adventurer of cinema putting on his fedora for a sixth time and grabbing his whip under the same conditions. The main problem being the advanced age of Harrison Ford, an irreplaceable Indy performer who is now 81 years old, and who can therefore hardly continue to do pirouettes in the middle of the jungle.

But in order to prolong the legend, some fans have imagined the future adventures of Indiana Jones in the form of an animated series (note that a series in live action recounting the youth of the archaeologist had already seen the light of day at the beginning of the years 90).

Animation (already used numerous times by Star Wars, by Marvel with the What If series, and soon by The Lord of the Rings with the future feature film The War Of Rohirrim) could thus be an ideal solution to free Indiana Jones from his physical constraints.

A few years ago, a talented artist named Patrick Schoenmaker has also taken the lead in imagining what the credits of an animated series dedicated to Indy could look like.

The result, which he achieved by working for five years in his free time, is visually very convincing. In the space of one minute and forty seconds, we can see our favorite adventurer brave the pitfalls of a Chinese temple, swing above a river infested with crocodiles, or even face the Nazis.

Once we’ve seen this, we can’t help but hope that Disney and Lucasfilm will take inspiration from it to offer Indy a new animated youth.

In the meantime, (re)discover the hidden details of “Raiders of the Lost Ark”…
