The social network Instagram has countless functions to offer. Here is an overview of five particularly useful features.

Pretty much all users of the platform should know how to publish a photo with a corresponding comment on Instagram. The social network has many other functions and subtleties to offer.

Don't miss any content

If you don't like to miss the content of a certain celebrity or friend, you can be notified when the corresponding account shares a new picture or posts a story. Simply navigate to the profile you want and click on "Notifications" under "Subscribed". Here, content such as normal contributions or IGTV can be selected individually. This must be done individually for each desired profile.

But push notifications can also be annoying. Among other things, they are sent to the user when someone "likes" them, comments on a video or photo, or when a new follower is added. To deactivate this, users have to open their profile and then tap on the three lines. These can then be deactivated under "Your activity" and "Notification settings".

A private collection

Users can also save videos or photos of other users. All they have to do is tap the small flag on a post. The content is saved in a private area of the profile that can only be viewed by yourself. The images and clips can also be sorted into a "Collection". To do this, simply tap the flag. A new "Collection" can be created with the plus symbol.

You can also easily save your own photos on your smartphone. If you tap on "Account" in the settings, you can navigate to "Original photos" (iPhone) or "Original posts" (Android). The "Save original photos" or "Save original posts" function can be selected here. If this is activated, every photo that a user publishes on Instagram is automatically stored on their own smartphone.

Users can also easily find out whether they have been marked in other users' content. In your own profile there is an icon that looks like a small bookmark with a person in it. All corresponding photos are displayed to the user here.
