China is stepping up efforts to reduce its dependence on foreign technology and plans to eliminate American chipmakers from its telecommunications infrastructure by 2027, according to the ‘Wall Street Journal’. The country’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) earlier this year ordered major operators to phase out foreign processors that are crucial to their networks within the stipulated deadline.
