Intel: not yet revealed, here’s what we know about the new 13th generation Intel mobile processors

A few weeks after its debut on desktop PC, Raptor Lake is about to make its debut on our laptop. If the actual launch of the new mobile CPU chips from Intel should not take place for a few months, a certain Core i7-1370P has already shown itself on a benchmark.

Replacing the current Core i7-1270P on the high-end 28 W chips from Intel, the Core i7-1370P is expected in early 2023 on laptops and ultraportables aimed above all at maximizing performance while sparing battery.

Raptor Lake Mobile: what to expect?

While information about Intel’s future mobile “Raptor Lake” line-up is still sporadic, three lineages are more or less confirmed at this stage. In particular, we would find “HX” chips (55 W TDP) for the most powerful gaming and creation laptops, “H” (45 W) for slightly more mainstream gaming laptops, and “P” (28 W) for portable PCs dedicated to office automation and advanced multimedia.

If Intel chooses to take the same approach as with its current mobile Alder Lake chips, we should also find “U” processors, (15 W or 9 W) at the bottom of the table for machines this time mainly aimed at mobility and l ‘energy saving.

As specified WCCFTechIntel has confirmed in an interview with its investors that its mobile Raptor Lake chips, from 13e generation, would arrive on the market at the end of 2022. However, it is a safe bet that the actual launch of these new processors will materialize a little later, probably in early 2023, after CES 2023. NVIDIA must indeed present its mobile RTX 4000s there and the majority of laptop manufacturers will wait. this announcement to launch their machines equipped with both Intel Raptor Lake CPUs and NVIDIA’s new GPUs.

A Core i7-1370P appears in the wild

But let’s get back to the Core i7-1370P seen on Geekbench 5. This chip should once again be based on a hybrid architecture (high-performance Raptor Cove cores and high energy-efficiency Gracemont cores) and Intel’s 10 nm engraving ( with the latest ESF process). There would be a total of 14 cores (6 P cores and 8 E cores) and 20 threads, clocked between 1.90 and 5.00 GHz, and 24 MB of L3 cache.

In terms of performance, the latter is placed a few miles behind the Core i7-13700H, which will rely on a larger thermal envelope. Compared to the Core i7-1270P which it will soon replace, this new Core i7-1370P would, on the other hand, offer only 5% more performance. An evolution more than a real revolution therefore.
