The Apple iPhone 14 is currently in great demand and will probably be bought a lot, especially during the Christmas season. However, there now appear to be serious supply bottlenecks, as a large Apple plant in China is almost idle. The reason for this is a corona outbreak, which resulted in a complete lockdown of the region.
According to a report by the Tagesschau, there were several corona cases in the Foxconn plant, which is why the almost 300,000 employees now have to be quarantined. As a result, production naturally falters and there is a risk of supply bottlenecks as a result.

To make matters worse, some of the employees appear to have fled the factory premises. According to the report, the reason for this is poor quarantine conditions. It is therefore still unclear when production will run at full capacity again.
The Pro models are the hardest hit
According to Tagesschau, the plant in Zhengzhou is responsible for around 50 percent of global iPhone production. According to Apple, there is now a risk of waiting times for the coveted Pro models. The coming weeks will probably show how much the manufacturer’s Christmas business is really suffering from this fiasco.
