Apple hasn’t offered chargers in its boxes for almost two years for environmental reasons.
The iPhone 14 range continues to reveal its secrets while the number of days separating us from its announcement has never been so reduced.
A more powerful iPhone 14 Pro, better in photos and faster to charge
It is therefore on September 7 that Apple will speak through a video event broadcast online to present its next family of smartphones. No less than four models will be presented, namely the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max, with a screen size of 6.7 inches, as well as the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. According to the various hallway noises heard for several weeks, the Pro models will be the ones that will benefit from the greatest number of new features.
We already knew that the notch in these models was going to be reduced, their processor was going to be replaced by a supposedly faster A16 chip, and the front and rear cameras were going to get a serious update. An Always-On screen is also on the program to display information in standby mode.
Thanks to the leaker DuanRui, we are now learning a little more about the novelties brought by Apple with regard to the recharging of its next premium iPhones.
A new 30 W charger available as an option
The Californian manufacturer would have in its boxes a new 30 W adapter, compatible with the iPhone 14 Pro only and which could be added to the 20 W model on sale for a few years already. The accessory would use GaN technology, with the use of galium nitride, a material that produces little heat and makes it possible to design very compact chargers.
It is easy to imagine that the USB-C to Lightning cable will always be offered by Apple in its boxes. The brand’s proprietary port will integrate the next iPhones for a final year before switching to USB-C planned for 2023 on all of its smartphones.
If you want to enjoy faster charging of your iPhone 14 Pro, you will still have to go to checkout. Indeed, Apple no longer offers chargers in the boxes of its iPhones since 2020 and justifies this controversial decision by its commitments to reduce its carbon footprint. The 30 W charger would therefore be offered as an option during your purchase and also available online from resellers, in parallel with the release of the iPhone 14 Pro scheduled for this month of September.
