iPhone and iPad: Samsung would work to produce folding screens for Apple


Samsung Display has been the main supplier of screens for Apple products for years. And to satisfy this major customer, the South Korean firm will do everything to stand out from the crowd as the folding iPhone and iPad approach. Samsung bends over backwards to put Apple in its pocket

According to The ElecSamsung Display is currently looking for a “new growth engine”. The company also believes that folding screens would perfectly meet this development need.

After several years of expertise in this area, with now five generations of Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip, Samsung Display is preparing to meet Apple’s demand for folding screens for its iPhone and iPad – in the pipeline for a good moment in American society.

The media indicates in particular that Samsung Display and LG Display would develop 20.25-inch folding screens for a future Apple product. By reshuffling its internal organization, Samsung Display would consider enhancing its competitive position in order to become the main supplier of folding screens for Apple.

Analyst Ross Young recently mentioned the development of a MacBook with a 20.5-inch folding screen, which could correspond to the panel in question. The Elec in this latest report.

Concerning a folding iPhone, Ming-Chi Kuo estimated last April that the launch of this type of smartphone would wait until 2025 at the earliest.

For the folding iPad, Digitimes and Ming-Chi Kuo recently agreed on an announcement for the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.
