Is it possible to live well in the city?

By 2050, 68% of the world’s population will live in cities, compared to 55% today. These forecasts from the United Nations (UN) show how attractive cities are. Yet 41 million deaths occur each year due to what are called “diseases of civilization”. An increasing figure, which corresponds to allergies, cancers, obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, but also psychological disorders or mental illnesses. At issue: city life.

How to make cities livable? How to enable the city to become a “producer of health”, “producer of well-being”? We will answer these questions thanks to our guests – Chloë Voisin-Bormuth, director of studies and research at the Fabrique de la Cité and author of the report Cities producing health?, Julien Dossier, sustainable city specialist, founder of the Quattrolibri consulting firm and author of the book Ecological Renaissance, and Valentine Rasse, head of scientific methodology for the Horizons d’Ailes associationbut also thanks to reports from the field and chronicles.
