Is there an ideal city model?

By 2050, 70% of human beings will live in cities. These are the forecasts of the United Nations. But, with confinement, the ideal city is no longer a metropolis. 23% of workers living in a large city (more than 100,000 inhabitants) wish to move, according to the 2020 Cities of France barometer produced by the FIFG (published in November 2020). Quieter, closer to nature, less expensive, medium-sized towns seem to be the solution.
But is this the case? Is this ideal city compatible with the objectives of reducing pollution or preserving biodiversity? How to rethink cities to accommodate all city dwellers?

To talk about it, this special InOut program receives Chantal Deckmyn, architect and urban planner, Lise Bourdeau-Lepage, university professor – University of Lyon, CNRS, EVS-UMR 5600, University Jean-Moulin Lyon-3 -, Jacqueline Osty, landscaper, winner of the 2020 Grand Prix de l’urbanisme and Clovis Solo, student at Sciences Po Paris. And to go further, reports in Dunkirk and Barcelona and chronicles.
